portforwading = isp block
#1

As you may have noticed everyday in this server support section there are topics always something like

portforwarding i have done but still not work
portforwading help done it but server still not online

and the list goes on what they say is i have done the portforwading but my server is still not online look and they will give you the details from westies server online checker ad it sais that the server is offline and that makes them furious towards sa-mp because they can't get a server public but it may be there (isp) Internet Service Provider blocking the ports because now as the gameing world gets bigger and for online servers you need to portforward the ports to point to your ip.

but as i was saying the (isp)'s have caught on to people useing this service for free which makes the (isp) loose out on a business opportunity so they block all the ports associated with the game so get a hoster as the best solution to the problem.

or you could get a hoster from here :

hope i helped , servermania

Note that if they do block the ports, simply getting a Dynamic DNS address will not prevent it.

The purpose of DNS is to translate names, such as sa-mp.com, into IP addresses, such as 94.75.202.193. When you ask your computer to contact a DNS address, it resolves it to an IP address and connects to it.

No, we won't sticky this, it's not really useful, especially since SA-MP stores it's favourites as IP addresses rather than DNS addresses (even if you add it as a DNS address).

Well, you've just removed content (which is good, since you removed the bits which where completely wrong, but bad because you removed my special mod note!) but it's still not a hugely useful post.

If anything, this content would be best placed inside the portforwarding guide rather than a separate post.
