I'm new to dedicated servers, virtual private servers, etc. Until I moved here to Australia (Oct 0, I hosted a SA-MP server at home. Now, it's been almost a year since my server was online and I think it's time to bring it back. But I also need a VPS for various other reasons, so rather than buy normal SA-MP hosting, I want a VPS.
So, I'm looking for a VPS that must fit the following requirements:
- Able to run two SA-MP servers with 100 slots, one with 64 slots and one with 2 slots - With the ability for them all to be completely full.
- Able to host a very small website, just a few HTML pages, and a small forum (probably SMF).
- I need some kind of basic control panel for the website. cPanel is great, but I'm sure I could adapt to most others. Obviously I need to be able to easily replace scripts and change stuff on the SA-MP servers, as well.
- Must have lots of resources spare (room to grow).
A very BIG bonus would be if the VPS could, at the same time, run it's own small IRC network - we're talking VERY small, just a few people on at one time. However, I know that I can set up the domain so that the VPS hosts the website, and the IRC is on a seperate server which I pay for seperately. So this is not a requirement, but it would help.
So, does anybody have any suggestions on a good deal for me? I don't know how much bandwidth or RAM SA-MP takes up, so if you have hosted SA-MP on your own VPS before, and been happy with it, please tell me where and how much. Much appreciation to anybody who helps me out. Thanks,
Jack.
