So I jumped back onto samp after almost an year and wanted to map, I download the editor (latest version) and put the files into my gta sa (Fresh install) and went to run the editor. 
So I pressed "load" and it returned with "you cannot use the editor while the game is running- please close gta sa"
 and I ignored it thinking maybe gta sa process was running and decided to map later , so now I've been trying for almost a day to fix it , made searches in ****** ,tried all the suggested fixes for all the problems in the program's thread and nothing has worked maybe someone can help me out ?

I have tried these ;
-Run editor in administrator mode
-Put gta-sa to run as administrator
-Applied WinXP SP3 compatibility mode to both
-Restarted my PC
-Redownloaded the same and older version (both give the same error)
-Re-installing Gta-sa to a different directory

This is how I fixed it :
Right click folders inside your gta sa directory (i.e data,models,anim,audio,movies folders) and goto properties, then remove them from read-only and it should work

You haven't stated if you tried to find the process and kill it

You have to start it and load it before launching GTA SA.

not sure what you mean, but from what i understand you're trying to say that I have to start editor first and then start gta sa but thats the whole problem gta sa should NOT be running while I use the editor, but anyways i was able to fix it.
