I think it's great: a relatively small area where players bump into eachother even if they don't want to, and roleplaying should be much easier and more interasting.

There are however several problems that follow the vast majority of prision roleplay servers, at least those on which i played:
-All roleplay servers are identical to a point. There is no way to successfuly prevent that completely, but most on which i played don't even do their best to make it unique.
-They have begginer scripters and/or owners who learn while managing a server. I for one think that if you want to be a scripter, you should have a basic idea what you want to make and how.
Many servers are also managed by people who don't know how to or are deliberately biased when dealing with matters. That's the thing that kills most of the roleplay servers.

Another, but separate problem is that vast majority of servers with big potential close fast. Either because of funds, or because the owner/scripter doesn't have time for it anymore.
In general, the best roleplay servers i ever played on haven't lasted for more than three months.

You have some good points. Prison Roleplay is indeed an excellent environment for roleplaying due to the considerably small map. All of your negative points are true as well however if that is the case for owners they should not open one in the first place.

I agree, but the reason why i made the last problem separate is because i think it has a lot to do with expirience and age. The older is the server owner, the better he is in dealing with problematic situations so less people leave. That also usualy means he has a few years of expirience in scripting. Like that isn't enough, the older the scripter/owner is, the less time he has to even join/play on his server, let alone manage and/or script for it.
Prision roleplay suffers the most from this, which is the same problem as all other servers, at least in my experience.

In my case, I am nineteen and I'd say I am mature and experienced. I have a separate person who works on the majority of scripting who is also of age and has years of experience. I see what you mean though. I've seen many owners that are young and cannot script very well which ultimately leads to failure.

I've not seen a decent realistic prison roleplay based server in a while. I've only ever played one, but the time I did - I loved it. Good luck.

Haven't seen one with a good script around here for a long time..

PS: Guess you posted at the wrong section.

I don't get it with this thread, it keeps popping up every single week and it just turns into an advertisement at the end where a user posts about his "great prison server" that'll change everyone's mind. Clearly OP has a server and is trying to indirectly advertise it.
