Hey! how can i upgrade me pc to 64 bit without formating?

Not possible.

You can save most of your files on an external drive or a cloud service then initiate the upgrade if you're concerned about your files tho.

He can if he installs a fresh copy of windows.
So, the old installation of windows will be moved for windows.old folder.

tl;dr - Because 64-bit can run 32-bit applications, but 32-bit can't run 64-bit applications.

I remember back then, when I looked all around the town, searching for Windows XP 64.
There's very slight difference between 32 and 64, mostly it's about quality and performance, if your rig is not strong enough, you may experience slight lag after upgrading to 64 bit.

But not upgrading it is a stupid way to go, a lot of applications demand 64 bit nowdays.

32bit can also only use a maximum of 4.5gb of RAM if I remember correctly.
