Well I'm trying to learn MySQL and how it works so I thought of changing my saving system from Y_ini to MySQL my question now is, is it really worth changing? Will it be faster/more complex? I've some free time so a lot of changes/coding isn't an issue.

Well, - I haven't used Y_ini myself so I don't know how fast it is but MySQL has a ton of advantages. I'd recommend using MySQL, especially if you plan on adding website-to-server capabilities(such as a UCP).
