Like there's much difference!
And actually, it's sort of for Xbox.
It uses the 'XInput' library, which has been heavily used in modern games targeting Windows/PC to provide support for the Xbox360 controller.
However, an emulator patch was made to allow other controllers to emulate the Xbox360 input, meaning after installing the patch you could play a game supporting an Xbox360 controller with any controller.
My 'GInput' mod simply adds this XInput support to SA. This means, as well as native Xbox360 support, you can use other pads by combining it with the emulator patch, which is also provided with GInput in a folder labelled 'PS2' - simply because it was made for a game that was only made for the PS2 and original Xbox.
Basically you just need to use the 'PS2' files provided with GInput, but then re-configure the settings in the "xbox360cemu.ini" file (you can use Windows' Game Controller window in Control Panel for assistance) so that all your pads controls are mapped to their equivalent PS2/PS3/PS4/whatever controls.
Oh, and in case you're not familiar with installing mods, you also need an ASI loader for it to actually run:

EDIT: Oh yeah, don't forget to disable SAAC and Xpadder when using it. Xpadder has an "autoconfig" section in its settings allowing you to specify that it should be disabled while a certain game is running, etc. and SAAC is just awful
