Can't start server..
#1

Alright guys, I'm the noobest of person when it comes to starting a SA-MP server.

I wanted to start a server, I started to learn scripting too.. but sadly, I don't even know how to get your server online. So I checked out some tutorials and all that stuff, and saw that I need to download server files. And that's what I did.

Changed lan mode to 1, and changed hostname, didn't edit the port, changed rcon pass, left everything else as it was. After that, I run the samp-server.exe file, and it run successfully and didn't close. That means I'm doing it right?

Then it was said that I go to ipchicken.com or any other IP sites to find my IP, and add a server to favorite list like this "210.89.56.250:7777" and that's what I did.. but no.. It cant find my server. And yeah, I didn't close that .exe file, it is running while I try to find my server online, but I still cant. I need your help, this is the first time I'm looking at the creation side.

Thanks.

So, im assuming you want to host the server off your computer.
You're only half done.. You need to port forward your computer before the server will actually be open for others.
IF YOU HAVENT PORT FORWARDED:
So go to http://portforward.com/english/route...outerindex.htm
Find your router or modem on the list, then for the game select SA-MP Server, and it will teach you how to port forward your router or modem for samp for your specific router.
Once you have forwarded your ports, open cmd.
Type ipconfig in cmd, and your ipv6 is the ip u need to put in your samp favorites, BUT u give others the ip from ipchicken if they want to join it.

Sorry, i was typing this on an ipad so its really hard. If you have any other questions, reply ill be glad to answer.

Alright. I don't think you should turn your LAN mode to 1, since you want others to join it. Your problem is portforwardimg. I assume you have a (wireless) router.

- To port forward, you have to forward your local IP. To find out your local IP you have to open your cmd.exe

- Start -> Search for ' Run ' (without the ' ). You'll see lots of IPs and other stuff. Scroll up for your IP4Adress.
It should be something like 192.168.X.X (Since everyone's IP is diffrent I used on the last two X's)

- Copy it. Correct me if I'm wrong SA-MP runs on TCP with the 7777 port. Typ your IP4Adress in your internet search bar and you'll see your providers' website. Mostly there are no passwords on these sites. You can try to login with the username ' Admin ' and leave the password bar blank. If it doesn't work, try to contact your provider or your mother for the correct documents.

If your router is in the www.portforward.com list, they will help you through. If not, try to do what is said above.

I've an experia box. It's a dutch company who runs it. I portforwarded Minecraft once. This is how I did it.

IP Address Port Begin Port End Port
192.168.2.1 TCP 7777 7777

Explanation:

- IP Address = The IP4Address you found in your cmd.exe
- Port = Typ of port opens, SA-MP uses TCP while others use UDP.
- Begin and End Port = Ports that are used to actually open your SA-MP server. Which is 7777.

I hope I helped you.
