the port stops working after router restart
#1

some time ago i restarted the router , and somehow it's port (7777) stopped working, though it had been portforwarded. So i changed port to 1111. It worked till today . today i restarted the router again , and this port stopped working too. I'm not going to change server port after each router restart. What can it be? The second server on my pc doesnt have such problem. i hope you'll help me

Hi there,

This sounds like your router IP address is changing after every reboot of the router. I don't think there is a way around this problem (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Kind regards,
Sean

Here's a hint: don't turn off the router. Also set a static ip for your PC.

ip's dynamyc. i use ddns to make it static. As for the problem, i found out that portforward settings erase after router restart :P

I meant a static IP for your PC. If your router acts as a DHCP server then you will get a new internal IP every time you restart the router or the PC.
