Both in my opinion, I got no trouble with any of them so far.

Personally I Prefer more to Linux. With Windows I Faced problems with sscanf and as I Know, Linux is better for hosting.

As much as I've found is that Win is better due to its stability. Some of Linux versions are bugged. Thanks for replying guys though, I'm still waiting for more opinions

Well what "bugs" have you found in Linux versions as the bug could be anywhere and if your going to say Windows servers are more stable then please backup your theory. If you are talking about just Windows Servers vs Linux Servers in general I say Linux Servers are more stable than Windows Servers.

Well I'll say the same thing to you as you said to him. Back up your theory Linux servers are better

For me, linux is far away from windows. If you know what Linux is, then for sure it's the best host for plugins. Windows is what i use to host my servers because it's more familiar to me.

Windows, because they have the highest priority in a release and authors need help compiling for Linux, which takes longer.

But Linux is cheaper.

Its better because if you know what your doing you can run a server for days and when you have to do updates you can do it on spot without having to reboot the system most of the time. The other reason is it can handle more than a set amount of RAM like for instance I have a Linux Server with 30GB of RAM on it and it sees the full 30GB while as the poster said he was doing dedicated hosting and asking if Windows Server was better than Windows 7 so he seems to not have knowledge in this. I will say this though with a Windows server it has multiple editions that have preset RAM limits unless you want to go spend that kind of money just to use that extra ram while I can use one distribution of Linux and use the whole system for free.
