How to fix the GTA SA(MP) crash bugs (frozen mouse) on Vista
#1

Hello,

I am a user of Vista, and I don't have any problems with it. The only problem, which pissed me of so far, was the crash when getting back in the game after being tabbed -.-". So, I found a solution on the web, and decided to share it here since no one has posted it yet (except 1 topic which hasn't been fully understood).

This is how to fix the frozen mouse / black screen crash;

  • 1. Press the Start Button (the round Windows one) and type "services"
  • 2. If it asks you for permission as Administrator, press Continue
  • 3. In the Services list, search for "Windows Event Log".
  • 4. Double-click it, so another window opens.
  • 5. Set "Start up Type" to disabled. Now restart your computer/laptop.
  • 6. Once back, you will notice GTA San Andreas doesn't crash anymore or freezes your mouse!

I'm sure a lot of people already knew this, but since it wasn't posted yet I decided to do it.

I remember when a few years ago I was on vista this was annoying badly. I normally had to go to the menu just to avoid (some) crashing. It normally still crashed a lot of times but yeah might come in handy for lots of vista users its one of the reasons why I went to Windows 7.
