Dedicated Servers
#1

I'm just wondering what is a Dedicated Server? and whats the difference between them and a regular server? (any features or such)

I was just wondering because i was looking at prices at serverffs.com and i saw something about like 12.50 euro for a dedicated server.

Just asking could anyone inform me?

the search button didn't have to much.

I think a dedicated server is a server that is actually going to stay up... Unlike some people who just want to have a server, but they never do anything with it... Know what I mean?

As I far as I know it's like having one server all for yourself

In reality it's a bit more complex than that, but it feels that way

Dedicated servers are most often housed in data centers, similar to colocation facilities, providing redundant power sources and HVAC systems. In contrast to colocation, the server hardware is owned by the provider and in some cases they will provide support for your operating system or applications.
