Hey guys!
I'm almost done with my gamemode, for a new role-play server, but I don't want to start up the server, until I got some nice suggestions.
So it's kinda easy.. If you was about to go to a RP server, what would make you stay? And maybe you have some suggestions? Some new things maybe?

Personally, nicely mapped objects, things that looks natural.

It's really hard to attract me to any RP server because I find RP to be one of the most boring things to do on earth, if not the most boring.
That said, make your server original. Anything that's opposite from the existing what seems like one thousand RP servers is a good idea.

Personally i never stayed on a roleplay... i played West Side until 0.3 then i just quit RP...
Make it original - Not the same as other rp servers.

Hire trusted admins, most RP servers have admins who just go around abusing.
Have a properly layed out website (if you have one)
Have properly layed out forums
Clear instructions ingame
Regular events
Keep up with current real life seasons (i.e have some snow ingame during winter, etc)

The server should soon be ready, but we will have to do some beta testing first, to check out the bugs.

Personally (but it's only personal), a RP server would make me stay on it if:
-the script is original, and the features nearer from the reality compared to what I'm used to see
-the admins are enough to handle every reports (I think that some of you can guess on what server I'm playing)
-there are not idiots everywhere around "wit ma' glock nigguh"
-the forum is not too complicated, and that suggestions are really taken into account
In one word like in a hundred: BETTER than the others.
There's no secret: be better than the others and you will have more and more players.

-Have a real roleplay experience, not get experience points to level and repeat
-Make your server look professional. Use proper spelling, grammar and dont half ass the text that players will recieve
-Make the gamemode easy to learn but make sure to mix it up every once is a while so people dont get bored, like a random 'event' system
