[SOLUTION] To samp crashing each time you try to join a server
#1

I have been playing on samp for 2+ years now, and have never had a problem. The other day I tried installing a windows update for .net framework and it failed. When I closed samp, it gave me some sort of c++ bug report or something. I thought nothing of this and just hit ok. When I went to play today, samp would just crash on a black screen after clicking on ANY servers.

I have followed many threads and have tried many different solutions. I have deleted the d393 file in my san andreas folder, deleted gta_set, and have reinstalled. I have XP and fairly good specs on my computer. Oh when I try clicking on a server and it opens, I have to hit enter in order for the black screen to disappear. If I click my mouse or something, the screen gets stuck and I need to restart.

This information may be of use, does samp NEED .net framework in order to run?

Bale: have you tried installing an older .net version?
steve: it wont work
steve: does the .net have anything to do with samp?
steve: i didnt think it did
steve: my .net shit was soo messed up
steve: i ended up uninstalling ALL OF IT
steve: then i reinstalled 1.1, 2.0
steve: i cant install 3.0 or 3.5
steve: error comes up
Bale: what error...
steve: just says this cant be completed, send error report

Reformatted my computer, so it is not a framework issue. I have tried literally everything I could find in the threads and wiki, does anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix the crashing when I try opening a server?

Seeing as you guys offered no help at all, I went out of the way and found the solution on my own. I reformatted my computer and SAMP still did not work. I had a pirated version, so I decided to go out and buy the original for 10 bucks. It worked after this. I then re-download MAPEDITOR. As soon as I began using it, samp began crashing again. I have found out that each time I install the mapeditor, my samp stops working and I need to reinstall the CLEAN version. If this happens to you, just follow the same steps as me.

1. Get a clean copy of gta (re-download even, I was not able to because my net is shit)
2. uninstall gta and samp
3. delete mapeditor
4. install gta, then samp
5. DO NOT RE-DOWNLOAD MAPEDITOR

Hope I helped at least some people
