Well you can rather come up with something unique and new, or go with a genre of a gamemode that isn't used a lot like prison roleplaying or zombie roleplaying (more of sub-genres I know).

Window 7 and XP were the best Windows OS's I've ever used since it gives you the environment where programming and such is more comfortable. Linux is better overall tho.
