SA-MP under Vista Home Premium 64Bit freezing in menu - dexter2004 - 29.09.2009

Hi,

Its running well, but often when i go on desktop and go back, or just go in the menu and look on the map and press resume then, its getting freezed and i have to use task manager to close it, doesnt matter if compatibilitymodus or not.
Its really annoying cause, i normaly switch a lot to the desktop to look something up. Im even scared of going to the map to look something, cause i know it may will freeze when trying to resume^^

Anyone knows how to fix or has the same problem?

Yes, I have the same problem if you mean when you minimize the game and go back on it freezes etc, I think its a general problem i have experienced this on every install i have made of GTA:SA

If you want to fix the game to be able to alt tab in vista, first make sure for BOTH the samp client and GTA SA .exe files are run under Admin. Right click on the exe, go to compatibility and finally down at the bottom Run as Administrator.

(that won't fix the crash on alt tab, but you need to do that first if you haven't already, this is actually the fix)

When you right click on the compatibility tab you will see "Settings" click on "Disable Desktop Composition"

It took me some playing around to figure that one out and since I have done this I can Alt Tab as much as I want and never have I had a crash since. I am running Vista Home Premium with SP2.
