Confused 0.3, 0.2x, or something else - [Fackin]Negro - 15.09.2009

I host a server and recently my knowledge dude updated the server to 0.3. I had successfully connected once before but I can't now. My copy of 0.3 says September 2nd. I figure there is a beta release perhaps since that date and he has since updated to that, while my client is the sept 2 alpha or whatever you fellows called it. I searched downloads and the main site for info but all i saw was old 0.2x stuff and I'm almost positive the server is currently running some version of 0.3. Basically I'd like to know what I need to do to connect to my server. Thanks in advance.

You must download the BETA 0.3 client to play on 0.3 servers, you need the 0.2X client to play on 0.2X servers. 0.3 is only compatible for 0.3 servers, 0.2 is only compatible for 0.2 servers.

0.3 BETA isn't fully released and has a tiny limit of maximum players (16), wait until 0.3 is officially out then you'll want to upgrade your server.

NOTE: Your server version must match your Client version or else it will give this message, "Server Not responding."

This is what I needed, much obliged. Also thanks to the other people who replied but you'd have to be illiterate to not know that stuff.

HOWEVER

It turns out I was trying to connect to our 0.2x server as I had the wrong port for the address. Upon correcting this and adding our 0.3a server IP and correct port, it shows the "(Retrieving info...) 96.242.238.162:7779" message and never resolves. I've checked over RDC to my server that it is running, I have restarted it, others can connect, and the fellow I mentioned earlier who scripted and maintains the software end of my server can see it and connect without issue. What boggles my mind is that I too was able to play it with the September 2 build of 0.3a, however now it will not detect the server despite my best efforts. I've verified that the server and my client are up to date. Any further assistance would be much appreciated, as long as it doesn't consist of "Are you connected to the internet?" The following pic is what I see.

Edit: lol my buddy rebooted the whole server and the issue was resolved, so thanks anyway.

Are you sure the Port is 27000 ?

Thanks for your help very much but learn to read posts, both times you posted irrelevant shit mate, I'm not a 10 year old dolt, I host servers and build machines. And as I mentioned this is RESOLVED so a mod should feel free to close this little thread please

Well, your previous post contradicts yourself as you were entering the wrong port/ip and it clearly says in the corner the server version.
