What port do i need to forward in order to make the server work. as i dont want unnecessary ports open does samp use tcp or udp for the server?

I currently do not know, but I always portforward both, TCP & UDP.

It didn't work when I used just UDP for some reason, so I just have both open.

You need to keep both Of them in order if you are thinking to port forword your sa-mp server !

Thank you so much.. it halped me alot.. UDP only didnt work.. TCP/UDP worked!
