Just curious about 500 slot cost - chaosnz - 01.09.2009

I'm not to sure how much it would be, or let alone how much the hosting companies would charge but does anyone had a idea how much a 500 player server would cost?

And if the cost is alot for the 500 player slots, do you think that the fees would go down?

200 slots normally is 10-20 Euro, so 500 would equal like 70-90 Euro

well i dont see how that came about, i paid 12.5 euro for 50 slots.. on a rough guess, i think it worked out to be about 125 euro for the 500 p slots..

well i think running 200 slots and running 500 slots will be about the same amount of cpu usage because sa-mp 0.3 has less lag so maybe not as expensive as you think..

indeed... i dont really see the point in 500 slots anyway... i mean... i dont think your going to have 500 players on your server anytime soon... (that was not an insult) (just a fact... i mean really... 500 people)

I have no idea why they even went to 500 players, most server's don't even get 200 players at once, except AS and GamerX.

I mean the same as you guys. I have my server on 40 players as max and the maximum slots that i filled up was 32 so i don't think i will be going to fill up 200 neither 500 is very big amount of players

even official servers will struggle to fill 500 slots i think just have to fill up with bots

Dont forget about NPC's, they use slots as you know and crazy guys like me will love to add tons of NPC's around...

I'll have to calculate the network resources used very well tough....

Well if you get a fantastic VPS / Dedicated server it wont be so expensive [being a 500 slots server]....
