Getting a video-card+Power Supply. - Danny_Costelo - 22.08.2009

Hey guys.

I was looking forward to buying a decent video card for gaming this week, so I was thinking about posting here, to see what you guys think.

I've been browsing a few cards, and they all require a high watt power supply, so I mind as well upgrade my power supply. I was planning on getting a 750 watt to prevent future problems.

So far, this looked the best to me: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...4011&csid=_22#

I play games like crysis and cod, etc.., so i need something really good, and so that I won't need to upgrade later on.

So please post what you guys think, or if you have something better to recommend.

I've always preferred ATI over Nvidia, so I suggest you go for 4870, they're much better IMO.

Thanks for the comment guys, really appreciate it, what would you think would be a good 750w PSU?

I recommend HIS HD4870 IceQ4 1Gb, and for PSU i recommend Corsair HX750 or TX750 (they r same, but one is modular).

I decided to get this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...4011&csid=_22#

I just hope the v-card fits, that fucker is huge, and I have a mid-size tower.

i got the ATI HD4870 x2 from tigerdirect like a month ago, imo its my favorite card yet, i would never go back to nvidia hehe, im yet to find a game that i cant run on max settings
working perfect on 600w, only problem was when i put it in it was so big its now pushing my 2nd hdd upwards, which will probably cause it to fail sometime in the near future , but thats on a minitower form factor, you should be fine with a midsize

ive heard some pretty good things about the 9800 though, my friend has it
