Hello, i'm new and could do with... - djollz - 07.04.2009

a script.

I've installed samp and the files for opening my own server.

I followed a ******* video and I have now set up a server.

I want my server to be a roleplaying one with not many bugs/glitches.

So what scripts do you recommend? How would i install these? Do i have to delete the current default script items? What is the difference between gamemodes/filter scripts and scripts?

Also: wth is a rcon password?

Some help would really be appreciated.

Search for Carlitos Roleplay.

That contains everything you will need before learning to script yourself, which is reccomnded, go into server.cf in your samp server directory and change your "rconpass" line to the pass you want, like this

"rconpass mypasswordisthis"

A filter script is something you run alongside a gamode, maximum of 16 filterscripts but you can have only one gamemode at a time.

Cool, but what actually is a rcon password? Whats it for?

RCON is for kicking banning loading filterscripts, basically keeping the server running, but if i were you i would download an admin FS, SeifAdmin is highly reccomded.

Ok, so i've chosen my password in server.cfg

How do i enter the password in the game and kick people?

(sorry but im clueless)

press T to open chat dialog then type /rcon login [pass]

Ok i'm typing it in, but it says my password is wrong.

Server config says:

rcon_password whatever



Within the game i type:


/rcon login [whatever]

Did you use brackets? Brackets arn't in the pass unless you put them there.

Ex: /rcon login hellopeopleofsaturn
