New to SA:MP ERROR - -UoS- N1tecrawler - 27.03.2009

ok so i just downloaded the latest client last night and tried a few times to join different servers. each time i did it would start up the game and instead of the usual developer adds it would all be white screens except for the rockstar game credits video. once the game started everything looked normal. what am i supposed to do from here? i tried both loading one of my saved games as well as beginning a new one and both times gta would crash saying that in unexpectedly had to quit yadayadayad... i can see no difference between the single player version and since ive installed the multipplayer. is there supposed to be something else? am i doing something wrong? or is it some kind of well known error?

Have you downgraded to version 1.0?
