One Question about port forwarding. - NEW_IE - 08.02.2009

Okay, Im new to port forwarding. So I was wondering, Do I have to port forward my Router as well as my Modem?
My modem dose not support port forwarding, nor does it have a control panel.
My router I can port forward just fine.

So....Yea Thanks.

Okay. Just to make sure. This is what I did to port forward.

Firewalls all turned off.

Enabled the port with my application.

Is all this correct? Or did I miss something?

As long as there are no other firewalls on your compy then you are good to go.

I got one more question, now my friend hosted a server from his pc and he had a different port then 7777?
Does the port matter?

No, as long as he forwarded the same port as the one in server.cfg then it's ok.
