Animated objects -

Dunno id this has already been asked or suggested, and frankly I‘m too lazy to find out, so I‘ll just go ahead and ask: Does/Will 0.3.8 support animated custom objects?

Yes, there's a video from Vince what shows working police light objects from him:

Could someone explain how to do this? Do you do this with blender? Imagine a running horse.

So, we could create skin-like objects, animate them and use them sort of like NPCs?

I would also like to know how to create these animated objects, since that way, I would have more ideas to develop my models. :RE

You can only do static and simple animations, like the chicken with the moving head (seperate object that rotates back and forth). You cannot "bend" objects like legs or arms would do on a skin model. You can also not attach an animated object in a way that it sticks to the animated part of another animated object, so doing seperate arms/legs wouldn't be possible either (since the forearm wouldn't stick to the rest of the arm).
Something like the chicken, rotating UFO etc yes, but a Skin would look really weird, if even possible.

Model animation requires ifp file, and when it's animated, the collision stays static.

Yes, for animated objects you need ifp definition, collision is static, also their number is limited, you can only add 2 more anim. objects.
If someone is interested in texture animation or effects:

Forget about the fancy stuff like attaching stuff. I was actually only thinking about multiple objects that represent the same skin but are animated differently. Imagine you create one object for an idle animation, one for walking etc. Of course, this would look really choppy. Nevertheless, it‘s a possibility.

I do not understand, it is impossible to add more than 2 objects in SA:MP? [animObject]
