What is an MOTD? - Merciful - 13.11.2016

Hi there,

I am sorry if this is a silly question or have already been asked (though I have tried to find it but haven't found anything). My question is a very simple one, I was trying to buy a SA-MP server when I came across a required information "MOTD:". The only meaning I know of MOTD is "Message of the Day". However, I am unable to figure out what that has to do with a server.

Please explain to me what is supposed to be written there and what MOTD actually stands for if I am wrong.

If its in a script then its probably to show MOTD when a player joins your server.Ex if my script have motd with "welcome to xx server make sure to visit forum etc" then when i join the server i will get that message

You can just try to look it up in your script what it's doing. Try CTRL+F searching in your codes!
