Level of intelligence of forum members. - BurnZ - 06.10.2016

As a lot would probably have seen, this forum is actually full of people asking for scripting help in the "looking for..." topic, requesting scripts in the "Scripting Help" section and people that cannot read and follow rules in general. Begging for reputation etc.

Can I ask why these people are flooding SAMP? Not just them, a lot of members cannot have constructive discussions and threads turns into troll topics.

Take iosgods.com for example. ---- Sure, there are such people, but they actually heed advices and change for the better.

telltale.com/community ---- A even better example. Literally 90% of the members can have constructive discussions and there are never people refusing to post in the correct section after being told.

So, is it because SAMP is so easy to crack and play? That so much of these people come flooding in?

Leave your opinion.

My guess is that a big part (if not the majority) of members are like, very underage. I'm not saying all 13-year olds are incapable of showing normal behavior (I have seen enough cases in which even 20-year olds were more immature and rude than their underage counterparts lol), but I do believe this is one of the reasons. For some of them the SA-MP forums might be the first forum they have ever been on. Combine this with your reason that GTA:SA is easy to crack, combine it with stubbornness and the will to start a server no matter what because that's ultimate power, and you have a wonderful blend of the thing we see on a daily basis here on the SA-MP forums.
Although I do also believe that age is not always a leading reason in this case, this is what my best guess is.

There are newibes (especially teenage kids) coming in every time. It will take some time for them to adjust.
Kids from all over the world play this game. So it is obvious that you'd see alot of irrelevant stuff from them.

Because all the oldies are leaving or becoming inactive, kids with everything negative then come in.

I have met some decent members, but they still ended up to be kids.

Kids surpass others. It's a lot worse in-game, I mean by a lot! I don't want to name countries, but people from some are just plain annoying (mostly the ones that have terrible grammar).

Other than that, arrogance and power goes over the heads of a few others.

I wouldn't say that their level of intelligence is low, but it's more of a comprehension issue. Lots of (immature) underage members are from countries where English is a second language or is not even taught at all. Bad combination.

Some of them pretty much have a low level of intelligence. They do not understand what you are trying to tell them even though you have already explained comprehensively.

This, pretty much. Comprehensive reading skills are also very low. Many questions posted here can already be solved by reading the actual error messages and applying some common sense. But posting the compiler output here (without the corresponding code, of course) and spamming "UP!" every 15 minutes is of course far easier.

Exactly.

Why can't they read the error line.

Stuff like Run Time Error 19 can be easily fixed if they even tried.

Every new generation is more dumber and dumber, that's a fact.

Not just the users on these forums, mostly everywhere, people don't want to use their brain. They just expect others to do their bidding which makes them dumber.People are just lazy these days.

Not to mention here, especially in the "Script Help" section.
If people even read the errors, OR even did a simple ****** search on it they would of figured it out but of course they are to freaking lazy.
I personally never give out a fixed code since I think it's pointless. If he/she will only copy/paste it and not even read what I said and not know why the problem occurred in the first place.

This will only get worse and worse.

Scripting requires a certain level of logical thinking that kids just havent developed yet. And San Andreas still is a famous game among kids, thats why there are more young people here than in most other online communities.

Imagine you never programmed, and got no idea what a compiler or a script is. You just finished elementary school and decide to try it. Doing this without a teacher at your side that helps you developing the logical thinking, and not even knowing the very basic syntax is a hard task. Their behaviour is totally normal.

Its not bad at all, Id even encourage people to try it at young ages. Improves brain developement and stuff, provided that they dont give up too fast.
I pretty much started programming just when I learned how to write. Produced tons of extremely bad code, had lots of trouble. If internet already were around back then Id probably asked the same stupid questions that people ask today, but I certainly wouldnt be where I am now if I hadnt started that early.

So dont get mad at them, but help them building up their intelligence. Some simple explanations might keep them learning and eventually theyll grow up to be the next bill gates. Wouldnt that be cool?
