The puzzling NPCs on linux - JernejL - 25.09.2016

I've been trying to get npcs working for us for years, the problem is nearly always same - they connect but immediately timeout when i use 2nd npcscript (the original ones stay connected, the new ones just keep timing out).

So.. i have one script "blank", the npc loads fine, when i use another one it'll just keep timing out. It also quits without any error or anything like that.

It's not the game script doing it either, i also tried running stock npc scripts to no success.
I have also tried with / no gdb variants, i got all the paths and filenames upper/lower case checked, i am sure i have the correct samp-npc binary, server has no password and i tried multiple ports.

Identical setup works without a problem painlessly and normally on windows, so i suspect something is wrong related to linux or how something related to NPCs is being handled on linux.

So.. any ideas on what am i doing wrong?

Solved. timing issue on linux, race condition bug in script.
