[HOW TO] Reduce SA-MP Startup Time - ledzep - 05.01.2009

Just thought I'd share this cool tip I found out.

If you've got an NVIDIA video card (dunno how to do this with ATI)
- Force vertical synchronization off for GTA San Andreas.

This will make your game run all the starting movies at a ridiculously high frame rate, causing even the 'loading' screen to finish 'loading' much faster than before.

NVIDIA

In your 3D settings for GTA San Andreas...

Sorry that it's dutch.
"Advanced" and "Wait on vertical sync" on "Always off"
You can also see this video for instructions on how to turn off Verrtical Sync on ATI cards
Don't mind the title, it works all the same.

mine has always started in a second anyway :/

I managed to do this ages ago with my ATI card. For some reason though, it began to "lag" again on startup even with the vertical sync off.Time to upgrade my card I guess.

- Force vertical synchronization off in your 3D settings for GTA San Andreas.

This will make your game run all the starting movies at ~500 FPS, causing even the 'loading' screen to finish in one second or less.
And how do you do that?

@ Manage 3D Settings in the NVIDIA control panel, when I click ADD and find the gtasa .exe and press open it doesn't add it

Right Click Desktop -> NVIDIA Control Panel

In the NVIDIA Control Panel:

3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings

Click the "Program Settings" Tab.

Click the drop-down list for "Select a program to customize" Select GTA:SA (If it's not in the list add it by clicking "Add" right next to the drop-down box.

Find "Vertical Sync" and set it to "Force on"

That's how I did it. I see it all. Maybe it's not in your graphics car, dunno.
