I would like to learn more but text tutorials for some reason don't work as well as actually seeing someone explain things. Any good videos that properly explain things and how they work? Thanks guys.

In my experience I couldn't find any good/decent PAWN tutorials so what I did was download gamemodes and just read through them also looking up things that i wanted and just playing around with it and testing in game.

The best way to learn in my opinion is the SA-MP Wiki. It has everything you need, and if you really want to learn scripting, you have to start from the very beginning (here) and scroll page by page. The Wiki has examples at each case, in order for you to understand better how things are actually working. I'm doing this right now.
