Hosting OVH and Anti-DDOS -
ATomas - 17.08.2015
Hi
Someone has a server at OVH hosting?
Your experiences with DDoS attacks?
When the attack on my server, Anti-DDoS protection to stop him, but half the players see the server offline.
Why? Player who sees the server offline have access to the web, which runs on the same machine on the same IP.
This is an bug in sa-mp? It can somehow fix it?
Thank you for your response

It has nothing to do with SA-MP. DDoS protection isn't perfect. OVH is
pretty good, but if you're being attacked constantly your server might not be online 100% of the time.

Seriously, this isn't the place to ask for donations and OVHs prices aren't that high.
But if you still have DDoS issues try NFOServers

Maybe we could exchange information and jointly to help fix the problem.
But your private messages are blocked, how I contact you ? Thanks

OVH anti-ddos is not built for games, the UDP protection is built by a default UDP rate filter to protect against all UDP floods which is not made for certain games meaning someone can still attack with certain amount of packets each time and cause your game server to stress. This can only be done if they have the actual access to a botnet and the ability to decide how much packet size should send, this is not the easiest thing to get access to and therefore it's not the most common attack unless a experienced attacker attacks.
The only way to overcome this on OVH is to get their game protection which is offered in their game ranges at the following links
http://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/game/ and
https://www.soyoustart.com/us/game-servers/ this will limit the packet rate to the actual game rate which is far less than their actual rate for the default UDP protection.

lmao $200/month since first 2 ones are not available on OVH
and on SYS $70+ setupfee $70 = $140 no thanks I could purchase food for entire month with that money

This is why you go with a hosting company if you're experiencing DDoS problems and hope to god those companies aren't being cheap and actually have these type of servers.

Then run your server without protection. DDoS protection even if it's basic is not cheap and if it is(tunnels) then their are drawbacks(increased latency).

It would probably be cheaper to change hosts and get a different IP rather than spending money on DDoS protection. If you've got that kind of money, by all means spend it on DDoS protection.

Post a dump during attacks here.
SSH: tcpdump -p udp -nn -vv -c 1000

who said im under attack? That was just my opinion and yes you won't be attacked unless you challenge other communities and fight with them also NFO is good too and there are other hosts cheaper than OVH that offers better protection

Impossible, attack is not permitted to machine. As well as half of players
If the protection trips, it takes about 60 seconds before it turns on automatically. During that time I managed to attack record

Try it.
DROP length 1000:2000

The problem is your server is running a bunch of services as you have detailed such as web services. All of these services can easily add up to attack each and every service and cause stress towards the server and of course you yourself still need to do some basic measures to prevent attacks.
I would also recommend as suggested here monitoring your traffic and packets during a attack and see if it is actually your game server being attacked.
