Copyright Script / Gamemode SA:MP - Carxi - 21.06.2015

Hello!

If I want to get ideas on script present in the other server where It says copyright and take one script making it from scratch and redoing them as though with some diversity possible or is copyright infringement ?

I don't think ideas are protected by copyright, Only its source-code or the work behind it is copyrighted.

If I recreate his own system from 0 and put it on my server , is not copyright infringement ?

EX: /carsign present on LS-RP or other server and I put it on my server, is violation of copyright?

It may be considered copyright infringement if your goal is to copy the feature identically, despite the fact that you've written the code yourself - and you've pretty much stated that's what you're trying to do.

But you're asking on a forum where the average age is 13. If you're concerned about copyright infringement (good on you) then you need to seek independent legal advice.

Dont waste your time with copying someone else's work. Why would people play on a bad copy rather than the original? Because youre the admin and not the other guy? Nope, life doesnt work that way.

It's not a violation and it's not really stealing an idea as long as you are not using their code they cannot take action, however I recommend creating your own creative /carsign command.

It's not always like that. Sometimes a copy could be even better than the original because you've added some of your own ideas. That's when the owner of the idea stats crying because you've done something better than him.

Life works whatever way it suits you. If people wouldn't copy one idea then there would only be one toothbrush company or one smartphone.. It's all about who's better.

Indeed, I totally agree with this post.

There are like a million copies of the same kind of mathematics course books or coding books and most of them are pretty much the same. Some of the stuff is even copied from the Internet, lol. (you can take an example of another product if you'd like)

Copying an idea (implying you scripted it yourself) is not copyright infringement imho.

You cannot copyright a SA:MP script as it uses libraries from <a_samp>, which belong to the SA:MP Team.
