The popularity of SA:MP and the future - Mazza101 - 08.12.2008

Hey guys, I've been playing SA:MP for a while now but I've taken a long break while I've had important things to do in my life.

I know that GTA4 is/will be coming out on the PC, is there a multiplayer planned for this? Is SA:MP still as popular as it was say 4 months ago?

I have a good idea for a custom filterscript that I will use on only my server, and I want to know if it's worth putting the time and effort in to make it or will people abandon the project for a GTA4 version.

No, it's the SA:MP team. Rockstar and SA:MP have nothing to do with one another.

I Think SA:MP population is still going to rise It has MANY more benefits.

Yep, the specs of gta4 are pretty high and running it on minimum is horrible.
You'll need at least a 8800 to make the game run good.

Its slowed down because of GTA:IV, I guarentee you that after a few months, possibly the new year. Most of the GTA:IV lovers will come back to SA-MP.

GTA: IV can't deliver the kungfu kick that SA:MP can. Hopefully in the future, SA:MP will attach some wasabi onto that kick and shove it up our butts. Hopefully, you'll understand what I mean.

Personally i think it's the 1500 Godfather servers that is killing SA-MP slowly, you choose.

A game can never really date out or die as every game has its own special benefits and such. Also sa-mp was created on San Andreas and GTA IV is completle new. That are two different games, and just because one of them is new, it doesnt mean its better. It really depends. On my opinion, sa-mp will have around 2-3 years more but i dunno. Depends on the community also.

Agreed. I also think there is too much poluting servers with basic gamemodes such as SFTDM, LVDM found in the server package.
