I know, they probably took the number of all the devices on which Windows shall run on...

Yeah I found this hilarious as well... it's like the Xbox 1. Major corporations have forgotten how to count.

As for installing new software, I doubt it and even if that did become a thing it wouldn't last as we have access to the hard drive which has OS, and program files.

Windows 1, Windows 2. Windows 3, Windows NT 3.5, Windows 96, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10. Because FUCK YOU! Thats why!

Windows 1, 2, and 3 would be classed as 1 version for anyone who doesn't know.

EDIT: Windows NT was a separate release, my bad, which would add up to 10.
