Study a computer science, but i doubt his main task when it comes to serious projects its coding, so being a scripter like Y_Less its not hard, planning what you have to do and which data structures uses its something you probably won't reach him at.

practice,study,make mistakes,learn from them and always use Google !
because asking people without showing a progress every single movement, won't make any better scripter/programmer.
