Try SmartFTP

However, timeout's may be becuase the connection between your computer and the server may be bad.

Yea it doesn't depends on the FTP program it depend's on the host or company's FTP you're using as they've all access of it , So i recommend you to use some trusted companies so they can't scam you.

if its failing its because the server settings are wrong, not because of filezilla.
