A question about forum and vps! -
Atyender - 30.07.2014
Hi,
- Can I get a VPS for Windows?
- Is there free forum hoster in which we do not have to put their name after our forum name? Like "www.myforumname.freeforums.org". Without that freeforums.
Thanks!

a) Yes, use ******. They are usually more expensive then Linux servers so you're better of with one of those and learning how to use it.
b) Nope, unless you use free hosting and buy a domain and then one of the many free forum software packages available on it.

Nope, it's pretty much impossible to get a free VPS (Well one of any consequence anyway) mainly because of the resource usage. Especially a windows one as most VPS providers use OpenVZ which isn't capable of running Windows server. You can probably look for some XEN/KVM alternative hosts but they will all cost. Oh and Windows server requires a licensing fee, which will definitely bump up the price in comparison to a Linux VPS. And finally! Windows server isn't really all that great for running game servers that can also run on Linux mainly because of the amount of resources the OS takes up as well. A Linux distro is usually quite lightweight around 300-400mb usually (from my experience) whereas Windows server also includes the GUI which the minimum disk space for a Windows server machine is 32GB!

I was setting my free .tk domain on dot.tk. It says use your new domain:- 1.forward this domain to:-http://________________
2. Use DNS and it ask hostname and ip
Which should I choose?

You'd want to forward the domain to your free forum url.
@Sublime Never looked into Windows virtualization (For some reason chrome is trying to correct that to nationalization) that much as I absolutely despise Windows as a server OS as it's more suited for a desktop OS.
