You should keep an eye on No Man's Sky, which was shown last E3. The target platforms are still unannounced though (besides PS4).

Space Engine. It's more of an astronomy tool than a game, but I think you'd enjoy it.

Planet Explorer is pretty good imo, you get to build your own designed stuff and the graphics aren't that bad but if you're considering 2D you should try Terraria although I'm not a fan of it since it's full of hackers.

Orbiter is the best space simulator you can find that isn't owned by NASA. It looks like a game but it has accurate physics and maths. I tried it and had alot of fun
