Hey i got a question. I have a one steam cd key for one game and if i put the cd key in steam can i download the game for free or buy it?

I never understood how Steam works, but by applying common sense, you should enter that code to be able to download (buy) the game.

If you have a original CD-KEY, you (or someone) already buyed the game. If you enter that on Steam, the game will be in your library to download it everywhere, everytime.

You have the game key.
Since the moment you have the game key, you DO NOT need to BUY the game.
You just enter it into the games library, and the game will be instantly available for download.

Keep in mind that when you buy a game, it is the key that you are paying money for, not the CD. That's why you can buy games online without having a CD. So, yeah, what Kikito said
