VPS File Saving Problem - Yochui - 04.03.2014

Hi people, I got my free VPS from host1free.com. I have a problem with the server(permissions, I think), I started the server with putty, I registered on server and the problem starts; the player file (.ini file) doesn't create, after i restarted server I had to re-register with the same name. So my question is: Is there any solve for this? Does "chmod" has something to do with it?

If there is no way to solve it (easy/hard, doesn't matter) i'd like to know it because I don't like MySQL.

PS: I have modified in script player path: from "/scriptfiles/Users' to "/home/samp03/scriptfiles/User/". Still not workin'

If you don't know how to operate a Linux VPS, why did you get one in the first place? You're likely having issues with file/folder permissions so yes, you'll need to use chmod to change them. Or, just install an FTP server and use an FTP program to change the permissions w/o going through command line.

well, I want to start a server for some class mates because I already got the script, my PC can't handle ~20 players on it.

So, can you tell me the folder that I have to change persmissions? Thanks.

Use filezilla, login with ip as "sftp://iphere" user "root" password "pass", go to your samp folder directory and right click on the script files folders and click on permissions and tick all the boxes, and recurse into files and folders.

Or use putty and "chmod +x /samp/folder/directory/"
Running as root is like living without a front door for your house.

Solved, thanks everyone. It was a permission problem.
