I cant understand what is MySQL. What is the help of this MySQL unto my server? What happens if im connected?

Basically mysql is a piece of database software which needs a server to be run, you can have databases which have different tables of information within them, fit example a users table within the database for your server. You can then perform queries on this database which can do a number of things. Return values and arrays, and edit and add new records of data. (These are the most popular examples).
