1) Don't.
2) Get Windows 7 or Windows 8.

XP leaves support (finally) in April of this year - that means no more security updates, no more patches, no more help, nothing. The loss of security patches is the biggest point - that means any new viruses and exploits will not be fixed EVER, so you will just get more and more vulnerable to attack. Researchers actually think that the number of exploits released against XP has gone down over the last few months because virus writers are waiting till April to use all their new ones. If they use them now they will still be closed, so we are in an odd dip in activity that will surge in 2 months time.

Don't use XP!

Install second 32bit version. 32bit + 32bit = 64bit!

Now, seriously.. If you don't have more then 3GB RAM then you don't need 64bit version. So my question is how much RAM do you have?

If you have a 64bit CPU and fair system specifications, then I really recommend you use either Windows 7 or 8. It's better to upgrade sooner than later.

As for the Windows XP drama going on, I have Windows XP and I won't upgrade. Mainly - My PC sucks. Secondly - I never-ever update my XP, I just use a free anti-virus and rarely get infected. Why? Because no virus will strike your PC if you have brains. By brains I mean, you don't simply visit every ad that says "Free live s*x", or download various cracks.

You realise yahoo had infected ads the other week right? Just because you don't download random .EXE files doesn't mean you're safe - driveby downloads and other backdoors still exist.

This isn't an argument. Windows 8 runs on a 1Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM. If you still don't meet those requirements (doubtful) then it may be wise to invest in a new box altogether.

We have things called anti-virus software, with real-time scanning. But, the point is that you guys missunderstood me. I mean, Windows Updates aren't necessary really. They would be if you would be running MSE, but any other antivirus will work just fine. Not even mentioning the newer antiviruses that discover zero day attacks.

Indeed, my computer has more than 1GHz and 1GB RAM. But, Windows requires some processor features like PAE, NX and SSE2. As far as I'm concerned, my CPU doesn't support them. I'm don't need a new system anytime soon as I'm not a die hard gamer. SA-MP and Half Life run just fine.

Install 64 bit. Youll wipe everything though.
