No one will give you one for free unless you suck c*ck. However, you could get something like <Your name>.<Random Company>.net for free without problems.

You can't. If they just gave domains away for free how the hell would they pay for their expenses? It's just not gonna flat out happen. Although, there is such thing as a Cheap Domain if you can pay a little bit of money on it. Otherwise the answer is no.

Long to short, no domain is free whether its .com, .net, .org or whatever.
You can use a host site such as webr.ly or webs.com
They provide alot of pages with amazing editing tools.
