pressing a key and the gear change....seems pretty automatic

Nice job so far. I had a bit of a test run and discovered a few issues however:
-) Last time I checked planes didn't have gears
-) Changing your gear while your vehicle is in mid-air will cause the vehicle to 'slowfall'
This could be a pretty cool filterscript if you'd fix those issues

Ever heard about variables? Your code under the callback OnPlayerUpdate is VERY inefficient.

What about some... clutch action? How can you shift without using the clutch?
Do you know how manual transimssion works?
Your code is so far from being "manual transmission"
HOWEVER, it is closer to being semi-automatic transmission, where the clutch is automatic(adjusted to rpm) and you only shift up/down using a single stick - pull the stick up to shift up, pull it down to shift down.
