I believe that we were running out of IPv4 adresses (the normal IP adresses you always see). So they had to come up with a newer version of the Internet Protocol. We went from Internet Protocol version 4 to Internet Protocol version 6, 5 was made, but never implemented.
Anyways, IPv6 adresses are basically IP adresses that you know, but then longer.
IPv4 - 12.34.567.890
IPv6 - 3ffe:6a88:85a3:08d3:1319:8a2e:0370:7344
(I just read on Wikipedia that we already ran out of IPv4 adresses, and that the last new IPv4 adress block was assigned on 3 February 2011).
That.

due to exhaustion of IPv4's, IPv6 is intended to replace IPv4(our current IP)

I wrote 'We were running out', which means in the time they came up with IPv6 (or somewhere around that time), they where running out of them, I didn't say it was recent business.

I'm going offtopic here, probably. Sorry. The OP was given an answer, so I'll stop replying here.

It should be easy to implant, although RCON and the sa-mp client do not detect IPv6's
The client also chops off the other bits of the IP when you try and add a server...
