pPass is probably empty.

In other words: pPass contains nothing inside it. Try to print out the value of pPass in the console to check.

EDIT: Actually, I don't think pPass is empty. Else the if statement surely would've failed. Try to print out both pPass and the hash of the inputtext just to see.
