ok so first of all i do not want to be advertising any particular server so i will be using examples everywhere in this problem.

So consider i have an samp server, whose IP and Port are 123.123.123.123:7890, soi have my samp server hosted on that IP.
And i have my forums hosted on another IP 122.122.122.122
Now, i have purchased a domain that links to 122.122.122.122 (my forums) which is at www.example.com
Now, i edit the DNS Zone settings and set it up in such a way that "samp.example.com" redirects to 123.123.123.123 (A record) with 14400 TTL
Now when i use samp.example.com:7890 in the samp server browser under Add new server,
the server gets added, but it isnt getting queried.

This is what it shows on the browser:
HostName: (Retrieving info...) samp.example.com:7890
Address: samp.example.com:7890
Players: 0 / 0
Ping: 0
Mode:
Map:
----

However, the Ping-graph to the right hand side shows that the server is being pinged.
also, when i double click and connect, it correctly connects to the said server.
the only issue I am having is that the server details are not being shown (its not querying)
how can I solve this? any help will be appreciated.

try using ip

the whole point of using a link is so that u dont have to use an IP

and it works with all the servers i know, incase youre new to this.
thats why i wanted to know where im going wrong

links are machine hosted who donot have ip
i.e
supershosting2.zapto.org:5551(iam not trying to advert but make a point this is just a random server i saw with that)

Remove the IP you already have listed, restart SA-MP and JUST use the hostname. Post the hostname here, the ip is in your sig anyway.

ive made a temporary link (hostname), which is samp.trademarc.tk:7887
