I would say that a filterscript can be something smaller that takes unnecessary space in the gamemode, while the gamemode can call the filterscript. That's just what I would say, don't know if it's fully true.

The gamemode is pretty much the 'centre' of the server, they usually contain the 'game' itself. Filterscripts usually contain extra stuffs, for example a housing system or an admin system.

"Filterscripts are scripts that run in the background of your gamemode, they are there to add extras to the server without editing the gamemode. It's very useful if you want to carry a specific property to more than one gamemode"
