My daily schedule on college days:
College > Home > Work > Home > Game/TV > Sleep
My daily schedule on non-college days:
Home > Outside > Work > Home > Game/TV > Sleep
But sometimes it depends on the game for example if it's call of duty I hate it but I still play it for ranking up but It's matter of fact wasting my time other than that no

When I turn on my PC I just waste my 30minutes staring at desktop icons

No. Games are played to pass time, not waste time, but if you're playing games and putting off other important stuff, then yeah, you are wasting time.
