No, don't go for R20+ versions. Crashes occur while in Linux, most important natives removed, and it's quite buggy

R20 has worked fine on my server for weeks now. On Debian 6.
Most important natives is not removed, its r21 and newer that is cache only.
Its seems like its r21 and newer that has problems and downloads on the project page is deprecated.

Isn't that exactly what he said?

No, OP asks about R20 or R7.
Ninja is talking about removed natives and crashes which is R21 +.

Cache saving in R18 looks promising, however I'll stick to the last official release which is R7 due to the fact that I've been reading people complaining about the higher versions a lot.
