Hi!! I'm planning to buy my mom something but I can't decide which she will like more.

Also is that Asus tablet an ARM based or X86 based CPU?
If X86, go for the Asus tablet, because it will be able to do whatever a desktop or laptop pc can do.
If its an ARM, go for the iPad just because of the apps you find in the appstore. Windows RT's appstore cant even be compared to the libary that Apple offers.

I guess the Asus Vivotab's operating system is the Windows RT.

asus because ipad is more for young people,and has less functions what she wouldnt like.

The asus vivotab has a non RT version and an RT version.
Get the non rt version of the vivotab and she can use normal PC applications!
